The most powerful hybrid Ferrari ever to debut in Beijing

July 02, 2021

Abstract : "Ferrari's success in the Chinese market is a source of pride, since Chinese consumers are increasingly looking for products characterized by high standards of quality, sustainability and innovation," Ambassador Luca Ferrari, who hosted the event at the Embassy of Italy in Beijing, stated.

MILAN, June 25 (Class Editori) -- Scuderia Ferrari's new hybrid SF90 Spider was presented at the Embassy of Italy in Beijing. Among more than one hundred guests and journalists, Luca Ferrari, Ambassador of Italy to China, hosted the event with Giuseppe Cattaneo, President of Ferrari Greater China, at his side.

The SF90 Spider, the Prancing Horse's first series production PHEV spider, sets a new benchmark in terms of performance, innovation and driving experience with respect to the Ferrari range and the entire sports car sector. The synergy between the V8 internal combustion engine and three electric motors makes it possible to reach a maximum power of 1000 hp and puts the SF90 Spider at the top of the category and the Maranello-based company's range.

The Italian Ambassador underlined that "brands like Ferrari represent the quintessence of what Italy is able to produce in terms of design, elegance, sophistication, style, but above all technology and innovation at the highest levels. Ferrari's success in the Chinese market is a source of pride, since Chinese consumers are increasingly looking for products characterized by high standards of quality, sustainability and innovation".

In the first quarter of this year, Ferrari sold about 160 cars in China, quadrupling 2020's figure, which, however, had been affected by the lockdown due to the pandemic. Nonetheless, China remains one of Ferrari's leading markets.
