China is the Vibram's future. "We are trying to establish our business in that country", unveiled Paolo Manuzzi, global manager of the company from the Varese province, specialized in the manufacturing of high-quality rubber soles with 190 million euros of returns. "Until today, we preferred to focus on establishing our brand", he added.
The next step will be entering relations with Chinese footwear brands "and results will come", explained the manager. As a matter of fact, that of soles is the Vibram core business. "Our 10% turnover comes from the final product (and therefore from the Five Fingers and Furoshiki lines, editor’s note) while 90% from the soles and from B2B business".
Those figures could change the future on the basis of the growth for the final product demand, while keeping always the focus on the soles segment. "Footwear is also our way of selling the potential of our soles. We keep innovation as our strength". To Lineapelle the brand presents Bubble design, an evolved concept that reduces the weight of the sole and creates a sinuous movement, together with the new wrapping sole Vibram Furoshiki model ideas and the arctic grip Vibram technology.
Meanwhile, the latest news, as reported by the Class Editori group, will be the opening of a new store in Boston, United States. "On Monday is expected the ribbon cutting of our new store. We already had a spot in the city, but we moved to a store in Commonwealth Avenue", said Manuzzi, highlighting that the company has two more stores in the world, in Milan and Montebelluna (Veneto region).
It is no coincidence that the group chose the United States: "Our main market is in there, but not the only one. In Boston we produce also 25% of turnover that results from the soles", added the manager. Even thought the United States, together with Europe and Japan are the Vibram main markets, our future is aiming towards China.
