BEIJING, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai saw a consumption boom in May stimulated by the second Double Five shopping festival, a months-long shopping event to spur consumption and reduce the economic impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Tuesday.
Entering its second year, the shopping festival, which kicked off on the first day of the May Day Holiday and will run through the end of June in Shanghai, has already unveiled more than 320 key events and over 1,400 special activities, according to a press conference held by the municipal government.
