BEIJING, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Sticking to globalization and strengthening R&D of core technologies are important ways for enterprises to resist the impacts of the epidemic, said a manager of a Chinese company operating in Thailand.
Liu Ke, general manager of New Thai Wheel Manufacturing Co., Ltd., affiliated to Lizhong Wheel Manufacturing Co. Ltd., recently said in an interview that the global auto industry has been hit hard by the epidemic, and it is expected that it will be difficult for major auto companies to recover to the pre-epidemic level within a year.
However, he said, the industrial chain and supply chain have not been interrupted and remained resilient. "Since the beginning of this year, thanks to the strategic layout of globalization and standardized production models, the company has avoided the worst-hit areas and switched production among different countries."
Liu believes that private enterprises can give full play to their advantages of flexibility in coping with the crisis.
"New Thai Wheel Manufacturing, a supplier of aluminium wheels to high-end carmakers such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, relies heavily on factory orders and when plants in the United States and Europe close, we will have no work to do."
"Our R&D department has not stopped working for months without orders," he said. Small- and medium-sized enterprises need to adapt to the new normal amid the epidemic and adhere to the principle of globalization of industrial chain and supply chain.
Established in Rayong, Thailand in September 2010, New Thai Wheel Manufacturing is an important part of China Lizhong Wheel Manufacturing's overseas strategy.
