When its gross social logistics value amounted to 1.08 trillion yuan last year, Linyi, the reputed "Logistics Capital" in China, also embraced stable and reliable electricity services to expedite the smart and green transition of local logistics sector.
The city, where 125 professional wholesale markets sit and approximately 3,000 logistic routes intertwine to reach markets nationwide, remains currently one of the largest logistic hubs in China, similar to the bustling southeastern China small commodities-hub Yiwu.
Behind such a busy logistics network are efforts made by local grid operator Linyi Power Supply Company to ensure convenient grid connection for local solar power sources, build charging facilities, and enhance energy storage infrastructure to keep pace with the green transition of local logistics sector.
In Lantian Smart Logistics Port, a new hub for Linyi's logistics businesses, a swath of solar panels laid on roofs of its 10 warehouses was already linked with local grids and is anticipated to generate about 7.2 million kWh of electricity per year.

Such ready grid access is inseparable from Linyi Power Supply Company's predone one-to-one power services. The company under State Grid Shandong Electric Power Co., Ltd. tailored power supply plans for the port as early as in 2024 when local logistic businesses moved westwards to the newly-arranged urban logistic areas.
Under related power supply plans, Linyi Power Supply Company renovated four 10-kV transmission lines nearby, built 5.2 km-long new cable lines and installed 24 new ring main units (RMU) to enable inter-connectivity of power lines in the port.
As electric forklifts shuttle back and forth in warehouses of Lantian Smart Logistics Port, green electricity is now powering operation of the port with lower costs and better environment, reducing related carbon emission by more than 6,000 tonnes annually.
In the past, daily fuel expense for local forklift drivers usually stood at 200-300 yuan, but currently, every charging via charging piles there allows a whole-day running and there are three 24-hour charging stations for recharging, said a forklift driver in Lantian Smart Logistics Port.

While facilitating green energy application, Linyi Power Supply Company also sped up construction of charging facilities, roof solar power stations and energy storage stations elsewhere in Linyi to brighten the green defining color of high-quality local logistics development.
