BEIJING, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Northwest China's Shaanxi Province saw its trade with the countries along the Belt and Road routes stand at 20.33 billion yuan (about 2.84 billion U.S. dollars) in the first four months of the year, an increase of 36.8 percent; accounting for 17.2 percent of the province's total import and export value, according to Xi'an Customs.
From January to April, the total value of Shaanxi's imports and exports was 118.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.3 percent, and 8.2 percentage points higher than the overall growth rate of the country’s foreign trade.
To be specific, Shaanxi's trade with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) amounted to 13.59 billion yuan during the period, a year-on-year increase of 68.4 percent.
