BEIJING, May 27 (Xinhua) -- China's leading search engine and AI technology firm Baidu announced on Tuesday that its Apollo park in Beijing's Yizhuang economic development zone has completed construction, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Wednesday.
Currently as China's largest autonomous driving and vehicle-road collaboration test base, the Apollo park integrates the functions of warehousing of vehicles and components, cloud-based remote control of big data, operations command, maintenance and calibration, as well as R&D and testing.
It is learned that the Apollo Park, covering an area of 13,500 square meters, started preparation at the end of 2018. It has already boasted over 200 automated driving testing vehicles, making it the largest application testing base of Baidu Apollo in China.
So far, Baidu Apollo's automated driving vehicles have completed safe trips of more than 100,000 passengers in 24 cities worldwide.
