MILAN, May 26 (Class Editori) -- Internet of Things, wearable systems, virtual reality and immersive experiences for tourism, these are some of the topics on the occasion of OnTech, the virtual roadshow, promoted by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST).
Now on its third stage, the "OnTech - Open Innovation Network for Technology & Entrepreneurship Communication Hub" program was designed to involve startups, spin-offs and innovative SMEs from around the world interested in expanding business opportunities with China. This, while offering them the opportunity to participate in an online matchmaking event, in which to present the company, the innovative project and its technology to Chinese interlocutors, experts in the sector and the topics covered by each event and interested in starting collaborations with Italian innovators and talents.
The initiative falls in the year of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and the People's Republic of China and had the purpose of discussing the possible integration between digital and real economy. One of the reasons of the meeting was the need to encourage the flow of experts between China and Italy, also with the creation of a Chinese-Italian collaboration that brings together entrepreneurs and the world of research.
Over the past year, Italy and China have intensified cooperation in technology and innovation. Last November, within the China Italy Innovation Forum organized in Beijing on the occasion of the Chinese-Italian Week of Science, Technology and Innovation, 12 bilateral agreements were reached between universities, research centers and companies from the two countries.
In detail, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Holdings and China Science and Innovation Industry Fund has signed a strategic partnership with the City of Science for the design of a hub for the Chinese-European Innovation. It aims at Manufacture 4.0 between the Beijing Changfeng ICT Industry Alliance and Cluster Smart Comunities Tech and the Torino Wireless Foundation. The Zhongguancun Smart City Information Industry Alliance and Research Association will handle smart cities and urban regeneration for Urban Renewal and Smart City China Europe. The Beijing New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation Center and the Polytechnic University of Turin will, instead, collaborate with co-incubation, technological exchange and joint research.
