MILAN, May 25 (Class Editori) -- Safilo has established a partnership with Ports in order to distribute sunglasses and glasses frames in China. The understanding, signed by the company specialized in design, production and distribution of glasses, provides for a ten-year agreement.
Safilo will be relying on a right of option to widen the distribution to other markets, according to the demand development and the brand potential in the eyewear category, in order to further strengthen the partnership.
The first collection by Ports, according to a note, will be launched in January 2021. Founded in Toronto in 1961, Ports has been the first luxury fashion brand to enter the Chinese market at the beginning of the 1990s.
"China is a key strategic market for our development plans and we know how important it is to lean on brands in our portfolio offer which are particularly important for local consumers, in particular in China, which is an extremely specific market, not only in terms of fitting but also of preferences, tastes and local trends" as Angelo Trocchia- CEO of the Safilo Group- has underlined, by adding that "thanks to such an important brand for the Chinese mainland, we will be able to further expand our presence in this country which is strategic for us, by adding a high-potential and very promising business".
