BEIJING, April 21 (Xinhua) -- A China-Europe freight train carrying 54 containers of goods left Hefei, capital of east China's Anhui Province for Kazakhstan's Almaty on April 17, marking the 100th freight train sent out from Anhui.
Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, China-Europe freight trains in Anhui have carried major exports from more than 80 local enterprises, becoming a significant transportation channel of foreign trade between Anhui and Europe.
The freight trains departed from Anhui have achieved efficient weekly transportation of 12 consecutive trips amid the epidemic and have delivered syringes, protective clothing and masks to the Belt and Road (B&R) countries.
Since the beginning of the year, the number of local products in Anhui transported by the freight trains has increased about 20 percent year on year, while products from the Yangtze River Delta area are accounting for more than 80 percent of the total, official data showed.
It is noted that the province is planning to run a total of 500 China-Europe freight trains in 2020. (Edited by Jiang Feifan with Xinhua Silk Road, 346129473@qq.com)
