InfoQuest, (April 20, 2020) -- Dr. Bancha Khakhong, chief of the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), indicated that the MOPH will establish business place hygiene supervision regulations before relaxing control measures, in order to prevent the possible spread of Covid-19. He added that the hygiene supervision regulations will become new hygiene standards of the country.
The MOPH will issue a certificate to business places meeting the hygiene standards, making the public feel relieved to visit these places. Meanwhile, the authority calls upon the public to jointly inspect whether there are business places that haven't met the standards.
"After the epidemic, the hygiene supervision regulations will become new hygiene standards of Thailand. They are aimed not only to prevent the spread of Covid-19 but also to prevent a number of other diseases. This is because after business places meet the hygiene standards, the incidence of common cold, pneumonia and diarrhea will be lowered accordingly." said Dr. Bancha.
We thank the public for their active cooperation in epidemic prevention. We are grateful to our 90 percent citizens wearing face masks, 80 percent citizens washing their hands regularly and 70 percent citizens working from home. Thanks to their support and cooperation, as of today we have seen our hospitalized patients decreasing to below 1,000. We also get the cooperation of religious venues which strictly stipulate the participants must keep their distance from others and owners of more than 300 bazaars who require the merchants and customers to wear face masks and maintain distance from others.
Dr. Narong Aphikulvanich, deputy director of the Department of Medical Services emphasized that medical institutions are fully capable to receive and treat seriously ill Covid-19 patients. The department has prepared enough negative pressure wards and isolation wards, and adjusted the processes of receiving other patients for hospitals so as to prevent these patients from being inflected with Covid-19 virus. So far, Thailand has 1,689 patients cured and 964 hospitalized.
"If our citizens can continue to cooperate with our work to avoid more patients, our epidemic prevention materials will be quite sufficient for our country." expressed Dr. Narong.
