MILAN, Jul 1 (Class Editori) – As reported by Cinitalia, Shen Haixiong, the President of China Media Group, met Paolo Panerai, Editor-in-chief and CEO of the Italian media group Class Editori, last Wednesday, July 26th, in Beijing. During their meeting, the two number ones of their respective groups agreed on further developing their running cooperation, thus signing a new MoU.
Shen Haixiong said that China and Italy started new momentum to the friendship and the cultural cooperation between the two countries – as these two countries, cultural powers of the East and of the West, play an important role in deepening media cooperation in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The cooperation between China Media Group – a state-run media service including CCTV, the national radio channels, and several other radio channels active abroad – and Class Editori – editing Milano Finanza as well as a number of websites and TV channels – is already strong, and has already allowed the two groups to achieve notable results. Both parts have ample spaces for future collaborations, and want to use their respective platforms to further explore cooperation in different fields. Among the different projects, they intend to co-produce TV programs, promote 5G technologies, and jointly launch the China-Italy Media report.
Shen Haixiong added that the opening of the CCTV Olympic Channel will give a new platform to both media groups, allowing them to develop a new level of cooperation around the theme of Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 and of Milano Cortina Winter Olympics 2026. It will also bring the spotlight on a 100-episode serial documentary called “From Chang’an to Rome” produced by China Media Group. The series is dedicated to the audience of both countries, and was created after the signing of the MoU between China and Italy for promoting Belt and Road cooperation.
Furthermore, Paolo Panerai said that Class Editori, through its multimedia platforms including TVs, newspapers, websites and news agencies, is quite happy to expand the cooperation with such an important group like China Media Group; so to co-organize TV programs, share content, and co-host large-scale events with the objective of actively introducing the real, objective and tridimensional China, as well as its Belt and Road Initiative, to the Italian audience. Both parts can carry out a wide range of multimedia activities connected with Italian culture themes – including wine, horseback riding, soccer, and fashion.
According to the new MoU signed between China Media Group and Class Editori, the two actors will be fully cooperating across different media platforms – like their relevant TV channels, newspapers, and new media. New projects include the creation of the new Focus Cinitalia feature, the co-organization of TV programs, the sharing of contents and resources, as well as the production co-planning and co-organization of large-scale events. For the purpose of seeing the actualization of all projects specified in the MoU, the two groups have also founded a common work group.
