InfoQuest (April 26, 2019) -- Mr. Adul Chotinisakon, director general of the Department of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce reveals that, the Department of Foreign Trade will expand the scope of the new-generation border trade entrepreneurs training project in Thailand and neighboring countries (Young Entrepreneur Network Development at Frontier: YEN-D Frontier), and add a project of training the new-generation entrepreneurs of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar along the Luangprabang-Indochina-Mawlamyine Economic Corridor (LIMEC), namely, the YEN-D Frontier LIMEC project.
The event is more special than the previous ones, because it is the first time for the new-generation entrepreneurs from Thailand, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and Myanmar to jointly participate in the training, with a quota of 15 people for each country.
Today, the Department of Foreign Trade held a conference at the Phitsanulok City Hall, and the theme is to preach the YEN-D Frontier LIMEC project and invite new-generation border trade entrepreneurs from Thailand and neighboring countries to participate in the project. Representatives from the government and the private sectors attended the conference, such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Industrial Federation, the Bankers' Association, the Tourism Council/Tourism Association, the Small and Medium Enterprises Association, and the Farmers' Association from the 1 district and 5 provinces of the Lower North, namely Tak, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Sukhothai and Uttaradit.
Later, the Department of Foreign Trade will organize the training for entrepreneurs who participate in the YEN-D Frontier LIMEC project on June 19-22, 2019 in Mae Sot, Tak.
"The YEN-D Frontier LIMEC project will focus on creating a network between new-generation entrepreneurs from Thailand, Luangprabang and Xaignabouri of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and Mon State and Karen State of Myanmar, so as to further the deep friendship and good relationship and collaborate on business in the future, just as the concept of the YEN-D project, 'We shall develop a friendship first, then business contact will follow,' " said Mr. Adul.
The Luangprabang-Indochina-Mawlamyine Economic Corridor or LIMEC Economic Corridor connects Tak, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Suk hothai and Uttaradit in northern Thailand, Luangprabang and Xaignabouri in the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and Mon state and Karen State in Myanmar, which will facilitate the flow of goods, trade, tourism and investment among the three countries and promote the economic growth and social development of them.
