InfoQuest, (April 22, 2019) -- Mr. Wiboon Aeksirathai, Governor of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), revealed that according to the resolution on July 31, 2017 of the National Energy Policy Committee (NEPC) to promote competition in gas supply, the EGAT can purchase or import up to 1.5 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) every year.
In 2019, 12 out of 34 prequalified companies took part in the final bidding. According to its plan, the LNG purchase agreement will be signed in this June with the first batch of LNG products to be delivered in September.
