BEIJING, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Changning-Weiyuan national shale gas demonstration zone developed by PetroChina Southwest Oil & Gas Field Companyis generating7 million cubic meters of shale gas each day, exceeding the target and marking completion of exploration of the first national shale gas demonstration zone.
By far, the Changning-Weiyuan area has 83 shale gas wells in production, with annual output amounting to 2 billion cubic meters.
In 2012, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and National Energy Administration (NEA) gave approval to build the Changning-Weiyuan national shale gas demonstration zone. (Edited by Zhang Yuan, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
