BEIJING, Apr. 25 (Xinhua) -- China (Hangzhou) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Area, the first such pilot area of the country located in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang Province, has just launched a special program to select 100 innovative cross-border e-commerce projects around the world in a bid to establish an international online trade innovation center, a service center and a big data center with global influence.

The program, named E-commerce Embrace the World, will provide service for thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises in Hangzhou and cover millions of enterprises around the world to form a new ecosphere of global online trade.

It aims to construct Hangzhou as an important strategic hub of "Online Silk Road" and international online trade center through the project selection, service implementation and data connection.

Innovative projects will be solicited mainly in five aspects, including government affairs service, platform service, channel service, technical and data service as well as other support services.

The projects should be oriented to the needs of cross-border e-commerce enterprises and capable of promoting development of enterprises and the industry.

Besides, the projects should be innovative, have growth potential and capability to lead others and have legitimate intellectual property rights.

Up to now, the pilot zone has accepted 51 project applications, which includes many well-known companies, such as Kaola.com, beibei.com and Google AdWords.

The pilot zone will establish an expert group for project reviews, reward qualified innovative cross-border e-commerce projects, build "one for one" offline service teams and cooperate with leading domestic investment institutions and banks to provide investment and financing services for selected projects.

The program will be carried out in three stages, which includes project application, project practice and project evaluation. The first stage of project application will last until the end of May. Enditem (Edited by Yang Yifan, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
