BEIJING, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Australia and China are both facing great pressure of environmental issues brought by carbon emission.
Promoting technologies for clean and high-efficiency energy and mining resources utilization will not only help companies to improve efficiency but will also enhance manufacturing cooperation of the two countries and deal with climate change together, said Wu Daohong, director general of ESCO Committee of China Energy Conservation Association (EMCA) and chairman of Shenwu Technology Group Corp.
Wu made the remarks at the China-Australia Economy and Trade Cooperation Forum held on March 24 in Sydney.
Wu said that Australia has stable political system, developed economy, advanced productive forces, favorable business environment, and as the two countries are highly complementary in resources and industries, they should take this advantage to boost bilateral investment and industrial cooperation.
Especially as the Australian government has approved the Paris Agreement on climate change and committed to reduce its greenhouse gas emission by 26 percent to 28 percent by 2030 from the level of 2005 .
When talking with Australian entrepreneurs, Wu introduced several latest energy saving technologies in China in thermal power generation, coal-to-chemicals industry and regenerative-type wastes treatment.
According to Wu, when generating through fast pyrolysis of pulverized coal, using Shenwu’s pyrolysis device before the thermal power generator, volatile components from coal will become artificial natural gas, oil and syngas in six seconds, which greatly increases efficiency and reduces emission. The technology has been listed as one of China's most important technologies to be promoted during the 13 Five-Year Plan period.
