September 11, 2026

Abstract : The inaugural academic year of the China-Belarus Institute of Outstanding Engineers was officially launched at the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) in Minsk on Thursday.

MINSK, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- The inaugural academic year of the China-Belarus Institute of Outstanding Engineers was officially launched at the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) in Minsk on Thursday.

During the opening ceremony, Song Yanping, minister-counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Belarus, described the establishment of the institute as a landmark outcome of educational cooperation between the two countries.

Song said the institute represents a crucial effort to integrate education, science, technology and talent development, while deepening synergies between education and industries, fostering collaboration between universities and enterprises, and promoting cross-border joint learning.

Song expressed hope that the institute would serve as an important platform and exemplary project for exchanges in engineering education, joint talent training, and collaborative technological innovation between the two countries.

BNTU Rector Sergei Kharitonchik said the launch of the new academic year at the institute holds historical significance and serves as a vivid example of how the two sides can build a shared technological future.

The institute was established through collaboration among four parties: Nanjing University, BNTU, Sinomach Digital Technology Corporation and Qixia High-Tech Industrial Development Zone of Nanjing. It is designed to address the real-world industrial needs of both countries, with a focus on key fields such as artificial intelligence and advanced engineering technologies.

By integrating talent development, technological innovation and industrial application, the institute aims to cultivate high-level engineers with a global perspective, cross-cultural competence and strong practical engineering skills.
