BEIJING, March 25 (Xinhua) -- State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company has recently launched a targeted initiative to help local enterprises reduce electricity expenditures and stabilize production through on-site consultations, optimized power usage plans, and rapid troubleshooting. The campaign has already saved participating companies over 1 million yuan in electricity costs.
At Chongqing Jinxi Economy and Trade Company, power grid staff identified excessive equipment usage during high-tariff peak hours and faulty reactive power compensation devices causing extra charges.
By shifting 60 percent of stamping operations to off-peak night periods and replacing malfunctioning equipment, the company reduced peak-hour consumption from 32 percent to 22 percent, cutting annual electricity costs by 70,000 yuan and slashing monthly power factor penalty fees by nearly 1,000 yuan.
Chongqing Shenlong Tengda New Material Company saw monthly bills drop by 80,000 yuan after switching from actual maximum demand billing to transformer capacity-based billing, following load analysis by utility experts. Power technicians also guided the firm to reschedule production shifts for optimal tariff savings.
In another case, Dianjiang County Power Supply branch swiftly resolved voltage instability at Chongqing Fuyuan Chemical Company caused by newly installed equipment. Technicians activated backup power sources and adjusted transformer taps within one hour, preventing production shutdown losses.
To date, State Grid Chongqing branch has conducted energy efficiency diagnostics and equipment inspections for multiple enterprises, implementing customized solutions to support cost reduction and industrial upgrading across the region.
