BEIJING, July 31 (Xinhua) -- The 21st China Digital Entertainment Expo and Conference (ChinaJoy 2024), recently held in east China's Shanghai, brought together not only major enterprises in the gaming industry, but carmakers and developers of in-vehicle infotainment (IVI), indicating new potentials in industrial integration, reported the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News.
Leading Chinese electric car manufacturer BYD brought its new car models to the event. It also invited the audience to observe and experience video games supported by IVI. The company is promoting strategic cooperation in smart mobility with smart device provider Honor, in a bid to enhance intelligent integration of IVI.
Bringing its new smart phone and car models, renowned Chinese tech firm Xiaomi was also one of the exhibitors of this year's ChinaJoy. Xiaomi has added to its new MIX Flip foldable phone a specific new function to support intelligent driving context, allowing the phone to serve as an assistant to the driver, according to a developing staff with the company.
The convergence of talents and technologies in the fields of mobile phone and automobile is accelerating, as new car models pay extensive attention to intelligent settings, said Liao Qinghong, chief operating officer at Chinese technology company DreamSmart Group, noting that the company is speeding up its cooperation with major carmakers.
