BEIJING, April 22 (Xinhua) -- On the 55th World Earth Day this year, which falls on April 22, a low-carbon popular-science lecture was delivered by volunteer Du Zenan from State Grid Tianjin Jinghai Electric Power Company to fifth-grade students in a primary school in Jinghai District, north China's Tianjin.
State Grid Tianjin has established close contact with multiple schools in Tianjin, where it carries out various voluntary activities on a regular basis, such as spreading electricity knowledge in schools, as well as enhancing students' awareness of low-carbon development and safe electricity use. Meanwhile, leveraging its professional strengths, the company provides power services to help schools solve problems and ensure safe electricity use on campus.
Last weekend, State Grid Tianjin conducted a volunteering activity themed on the World Earth Day together with Tianjin Foreign Studies University. Zhang Qian from the State Grid Tianjin Ninghe Electric Power Company served as a volunteer to educate children on the origin of electricity at the Tianjin Electric Power Science and Technology Museum.
Upholding the principle of green and low-carbon development, State Grid Tianjin has actively engaged in volunteering services, organized a variety of activities including popular science classes and field trips, and launched a series of public welfare popular science courses for teenagers. In this process, the company has been working towards the realization of the dual carbon goals, contributing to the green, low-carbon, and high-quality development of Tianjin.
