CAIRO, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Egyptians who had studied in China gathered in Cairo on Wednesday evening for the 2026 Seminar for Egyptian Scholars in China, where they discussed talent development, human resource development, and ways to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking at the event, Gilan Abbas, deputy assistant minister for Capacity Building Affairs at Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized Egypt's focus on talent development and experience-sharing to support its Vision 2030.
Abbas said cultural exchanges and talent training are vital for promoting dialogue between the two civilizations, adding that Egyptians who studied in China act as a bridge to help expand bilateral cooperation into wider areas.
Naser Abdel-Aal, chairman of the Egyptian Alumni Association of Chinese Universities, called for closer cooperation between Egyptian and Chinese researchers in clean energy, artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, cross-border e-commerce, and cloud computing.
He said the association would further promote cooperation between universities and research institutions in both countries.
Wu Bin, president of the Academy for International Business Officials under China's Ministry of Commerce, highlighted human resources development as an important platform for sharing China's modernization experience and promoting common development.
China has launched tailored training programs for Egypt this year, covering new energy infrastructure, AI and digital technologies, Wu noted.
Lu Chunsheng, minister counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, encouraged Egyptians who have studied in China to promote cultural exchanges and welcomed more young Egyptians to study in China.
Mahmoud Eissa, who went to China in 2013 to pursue a doctoral degree at Harbin Institute of Technology, told Xinhua that studying in China had profoundly changed his way of thinking and outlook on life.
"In China, I was deeply influenced by the country's atmosphere of striving for excellence and taking an enterprising approach," Eissa said, adding that he now strives for the best in everything he does.
