ZHENGZHOU, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- A demonstration electric vehicle charging station with mobile storage device was put into operation in Ruzhou county of Pingdingshan, a city in Central China’s Henan Province, at the end of September. It’s the first time for the province to equip a public EV charging station with a mobile storage device in a county.
The station, invested by State Grid Henan Electric Power Company with over 6.3 million yuan, has built one 10 kV line, three 630 kVA transformers, and 15 charging piles, which could provide charging service for 30 electric vehicles at the same time. This charging station is also equipped with one 460kWh energy storage vehicle, which can charge 10 vehicles for 30 minutes.
In recent years, Henan Electric Power has been continuously expanding its EV charging and battery swapping services to better assist Henan's low-carbon energy transformation and green development. At present, 107 counties in the province have their charging facilities, and all service areas along highways in the province can also provide EV charging services.
Since the beginning of this year, the company has invested about 200 million yuan in building charging stations. By the end of September, a total of 120 new charging stations and expansion projects along highways have been completed. It also put into operation one heavy-duty truck charging station in July.
At present, the power grid company is carrying out expansion projects at 17 urban public EV charging stations, and building 5 county-level demonstration stations, all of which are scheduled to be completed and put into operation by the end of November. (Edited by Zhang Qian, zhangqian@xinhua.org)
