BEIJING, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- MG, a brand of China's top automaker SAIC Motor, has spread its European presence in high-end new energy vehicle (NEV) market since its entrance in Germany in 2019, and now the brand is ready to take lead in European NEV market with its first-class products and services.
In 2019, MG ZS EV, the brand's first NEV model, made its debut in Europe with 1,200 units sold in the first year while in the next year, the brand was available in German, France, Norway and has more than 60 offline stores with sales reaching 7,700 units, said Aiden He, CEO of MG Motor Nordic and BeNeLux.
In 2021, MG further expanded its market to countries such as Spain and Italy, and rapidly increase more than 600 sales outlets to sell 21,000 units. In the first half of 2022, the brand sold more than 45,000 units in Europe and ranked among the top 10 pure electric vehicle brand in markets of Sweden Norway and other European countries, He noted.

Hybrid cars account for a huge share in the Swedish automobile market, and it takes steps for MG to convince customers to accept electric vehicles, He said.
Considering that local extreme cold conditions required longer battery life, MG optimized the heating function of the battery pack and improved the car performance in extreme cold weather. The brand also established user communities via social media to strengthen contact and feedback for brand promotion.

It is noted that Amera, a salesperson working at a sales outlet in Stockholm, Sweden, sold 109 MG units within a single month, and at present, MG has 46 sales outlets in Sweden, He said.
Since entering the European market, the brand has successively released car models such as MG ZS EV, MG EHS, MG Marvel R and MG5. MG MULAN, also known as MG4 ELECTRIC, was a newly released pure electric vehicle model and earned wide media attention and praise from consumers in Europe.
He introduced that MG has already established its own terminals in Belgium and Barcelona, and will improve the supply chain and introduce more models to provide better services for European consumers.
