BEIJING, May 8 (Xinhua) -- North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region witnessed robust tourism revenue during the five-day May Day holiday which ended on Wednesday, reported by local newspaper on Friday.
During the holiday, the region received a total of 8.981 million tourist visits, with a total revenue of 4.306 billion yuan.
As COVID-19 has been brought under control, Inner Mongolia still puts the epidemic prevention and control works in the first place and requires tourists to make appointments in advance with red lines on carrying capacities in scenic spots have been set, ensuring that the tourism market is safe, stable and orderly during the holiday.
By improving service quality, enriching tourism products and increasing publicity, Inner Mongolia saw the number of visitors to its six 5A-level tourist attractions reach 185,400, 7.45 times that of the same period in 2020.
