BEIJING, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Chongqing saw its GDP increase 18.4 percent year on year to 599.525 billion yuan in the first quarter of this year, according to data released by local authorities on Tuesday.
During the period, the city's primary industry, secondary industry and tertiary industry achieved added value of 34.463 billion yuan, 215.225 billion yuan and 349.837 billion yuan respectively, up 10.5 percent, 24.7 percent and 15.5 percent year on year.
In the first quarter this year, the city's economy continued to maintain a sustained and stable recovery, with the economic cycle smoothly running and market expectation improving, said a person in charge of Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Statistics, adding that Chongqing will continue to consolidate the good momentum of economic recovery growth.
