MILAN, March 15 (Class Editori) -- RIAVVIA MI(Restart Milan) is a social initiative supported by the Municipality of Milan, the Metropolitan City of Milan and the Social Energy Association Jesurum in order to help needy families of the city of Milan and of its metropolitan area through the endowment of Lenovo PCs and tablets and Motorola reconditioned smartphones. The program has been launched by Spazio Lenovo, the concept store of Lenovo based in Milan, in Matteotti street, 10, that will work as the coordination center of the project.
The initiative, which involves Milanese citizens and enterprises, is promoted in the framework of Lenovo's commitment to include all social categories and allow everyone to have access to digital technologies, nowadays essential to communicate, study, work. Moreover, in order to support RIAVVIA MI, Lenovo Foundation will allocate 50,000 euros to develop and implement measures needed in kindergartens.
The citizens or the enterprises that will decide to take part in the project can sign up on www.spaziolenovo.com/riavviami to donate Lenovo PCs and tablets or Motorola smartphones that they do not use anymore. The volunteers will take charge of the device, will schedule its collection and Lenovo will send the benefactor a 15% discount voucher that can be used to purchase Lenovo or Motorola products. In accordance with medical protocols, it will also be possible to deliver devices directly to the Spazio Lenovo store.
The starting point for the RIAVVIA MI project was an analysis of the needs of citizens undertaken by the Municipality of Milan, which mapped out the requirements in order to identify the possible beneficiaries of the initiative. Among these, young people between 14 and 18 years old stood out above all, since they need to maintain a continuity of education.
Once the products are collected, an initial condition assessment will be carried out, and then the device will be sanitized and reconditioned, thus becoming ready to be donated. Lenovo will cover the cost of restoration and maintenance. If it is not possible to recondition the devices, they will be disposed of according to WEEE regulations. (All rights reserved)
