BEIJING, March 10 (Xinhua) -- East China's Shanghai plans to construct 166 major engineering projects in 2021, with an annual planned investment of 173 billion yuan, according to a project construction coordination and promotion group meeting held by Shanghai on Tuesday.
It is reported that Shanghai plans to start 18 new projects, complete 20 projects, and arrange 47 preliminary projects in 2021. These major engineering projects focus on key areas such as the demonstration zone for the eco-friendly and integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, Lin-gang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) as well as Hongqiao international opening hub and etc., with the purpose of accelerating the advancement of science and technology industries.
Moreover, major construction tasks of Shanghai in 2020 have been fully completed with an investment of 170.8 billion yuan throughout the year, hitting a record high. Among them, 40 projects were newly started construction projects, while 19 ones have been basically completed.
