InfoQuest (January 25, 2021) - In December 2020, Thailand's exports reached 20.08274 billion U.S. dollars, up 4.71 percent against the original expectations of a 1.3-2.4 percent contraction; and the imports recorded 19.11916 billion U.S. dollars, up 3.62 percent, with a trade surplus of 963.58 million U.S. dollars, according to the data of the Trade Policy and Strategy Office.
With the recovery of the global economy and the economic improvement of major trading partners, Thailand and multiple Asian countries have achieved growth in exports.
In 2020, Thailand's exports and imports were 231.46844 billion U.S. dollars and 206.99189 billion U.S. dollars, down 6.01 percent and 12.39 percent, respectively, with a trade surplus of 24.47655 billion U.S. dollars.
