MILAN, Nov. 3 (Class Editori) – Sebigas from Olgiate Olona (Varese, Italy), active in the biogas field and one of the main plants' suppliers, is officially joining the Chinese TICA group, which boasts a turnover of €830 million (2019), about 3,000 employees, 10 productive factories worldwide and 70 commercial offices.
After the EXERGY one, which took place 10 months ago, this is the second acquisition - announced last November - in the energy green field by the TICA group together with Nanjing Golden Eagle Group, one of the most important investment holding in China, active in the retail, hospitality and real estate field, with gross revenues on sales amounting at 18 million Hong Kong dollars. Golden Eagle and TICA have jointly make this investment with the shared goal to actively contribute to the global economies transition toward a sustainable and carbon neutral future.
Thanks to the new controlling group, Sebigas will obtain a further boost to its international business. The company already owns 80 plants worldwide, for a total capacity of 70 MW and a track record of over 8,600 functioning hours per year.
Indeed, TICA is active in China, where its headquarter is located, as well as in Malaysia, Australia, Canada, the USA, Germany, Brazil and Europe. On the other hand, TICA group, with the acquisition of Sebigas, is strengthening itself in the market of renewable energies, with the aim of becoming a global leader company in the environment-friendly technologies supply in the HVAC sector, heat recovery and renewable energies.
Sebigas ability to stand out in the biogas field where the biomass heterogeneity is crucial - a plus which allows to handle with markets that are also very different in geographical terms - has convinced TICA. Moreover, Sebigas boasts significant skills in terms of application technologies and integrated plants' building for the treatment and management of the organic part of waste for energy purpose.
By leveraging on synergies and different technical skills, the TICA group, with the Italian Exergy and Sebigas, would be able to present itself as a strong and very competitive operator in the market at a global level and contribute with its solutions to the sustainable energy production which is based on recycling methods of secondary and industrial and agricultural waste materials: this is one of the increasingly urgent goals shared by Governments, scientific community and associations committed to the climate change fight.
"The official completion of Sebigas acquisition by the international group TICA represents an important recognition of the technological value of an Italian brand, which has been developing on national and international markets during the years", as Roberto Salmaso, General Manager of Sebigas, has explained.
"In particular, this instills a real trust in a highly specialized team, which is willing to face the new global and competitive challenges in the biogas and biomethane market with the right tools. We present ourselves on the market with the awareness of having acted - and still acting - as a reliable point of reference for all the stakeholders related to the industrial and agricultural field; thanks to this acquisition, Sebigas officially comes back to be one of the main players of the sector."
Therefore, Sebigas is restarting with a new ambitious industrial plan developed on a 3 and 5-year span, which provides for a strategic change in business. It will indeed move to a more balanced portfolio among the different application sectors: from 80 percent agricultural, 10 percent industrial, 10 percent waste to 40 percent agricultural, 30 percent industrial, 30 percent waste and an increase in turnover up to €10 million. In the company's growth strategy, there is also the inclination to acquire or hold a shareholding in strategic assets, in the field of biomethane creation from by-products and waste: all these fields have been strongly growing also thanks to incentives.
This industrial plan aims at making Sebigas a key player in the circular economy field, which will always have increasingly greater weight in the global economic development strategy; moreover, it also aims at developing standard solutions for important markets such as China and the USA in the livestock and waste fields, as well as expanding in the Far East market thanks to trade synergies with TICA and Exergy International.
Producing sustainable electric energy is the first and most important goal of the Green New Deal, since the energy department is responsible of 75 percent of the green-house emissions at a European level.
At a global level, investments in the renewable energies' sector amount at more than 300 billion dollars and Asia alone accounts for about 60 percent of global investments, strongly outdoing Europe and Americas. In this direction, potential customer companies are urged to find a sustainable way to use their own waste.
The headquarter of Sebigas continues to be based in Italy, in Olgiate Olona (Varese province); the management and work team has been confirmed as well. The development plan and trade opportunities also require new staff, with technical experts in the organic processes, electric engineering, automation and proposal sectors. Through the recruiting process, the current company will double its own workforce by the end of 2021.
