BEIJING, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- The opening of an intangible culture heritage (ICH) craft town in southwest China's Chongqing has provided tourists home and abroad with exhibits and ICH handicrafting for an immersive experience of traditional Chinese culture.
Located in Xiuhu National Wetland Park of Chongqing's Bishan District, the town was officially unveiled by Bishan District party secretary Lan Qinghua on Tuesday along with the launch of a series Chinese-culture trending and ICH related activities to offer visitors one-stop ICH touring of gourmet, accommodation and hands-on experience.
Bishan cultural and tourism IP characters, two cute rabbits dressed in traditional costumes that represents well-educated and elegance, are released at the opening ceremony.
5G WeChat mini program Bishan Cloud Tour was also introduced to present how the connotation of Bishan showcased through the charm of modern technology.
The ICH craft town also invites 5 national-level ICH artists including Wu Wenxin, Xu Yang, Pan Qihui, Kang Ning and Huang Min to the ceremony.
It is noted that so far 32 ICH related enterprises have settled in the town, as well as one national craft artist and two Chongqing senior craft artists.
Bishan District attaches great importance to the protection and inheritance of its profound and precious cultural heritage and is making efforts to unearth cultural resources, innovate inheritance methods for the transformation and rejuvenation of ICH, said Qin Wenmin, head of the Bishan District, in remarks at the ceremony.
