InfoQuest (September 4, 2020) - According to the Trade Policy and Strategy Office at Ministry of Commerce, Thailand's consumer price index (CPI) in August 2020 reached 102.29, down 0.50 percent from a year earlier, after a 0.29 percent rise in July and an average decline of 1.03 percent from January to August.
August core CPI read 102.92, up 0.3 percent, compared with a 0.30 percent rise year on year. It kept unchanged in July, but saw a 0.33 percent rise in first eight months.
Index for non-alcoholic beverages and food was 106.59, up 1.62 percent year on year against July's 0.76 percent increase; index for other sectors marked 99.87, down 1.73 percent y/y and up 0.01 percent compared with one month earlier.
The Ministry of Commerce announced a forecast fall of 0.7-1.5 percent for 2020 inflation rate.
