InfoQuest (August 31, 2020) -- Fiscal Policy Office (FPO) announced its full-year projection for Thailand's GDP at an 8.5 percent contraction after a first-half decline of 6.9 percent. Thailand's economy may see a continued but mitigated recession for the remainder of 2020 due to fewer economic sectors with negative growth upon positive self-adjustments.
FPO deputy spokesman and financial adviser Vuttipong Jittangsagul said that government's immediate response to floods alleviated the losses in northern Thailand, and only one or two provinces were affected.
