BEIJING, June 9 (Xinhua) – A freight train carrying subway construction equipment left Nanchang, capital of east China's Jiangxi Province on June 8 for Moscow, Russia, marking the first of this special freight service in China, reported Xinhua-run Xinhua Finance Monday.
The special freight service has also created a new path to help China's high-end intelligent equipment to go global.
Nanchang has witnessed departure of 284 China-Europe freight trains in the first five months of the year, with cargo volume hiking 20 percent on year to 13,096 TEUs, according to the local authority.
It is noted that a total of 150 China-Europe freight trains, as well as more than 600 intermodal freight trains, are expected to set off from Nanchang in 2020.
