BEIJING, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Central China's Hubei Province, which has been hit hard by the COVID-19 epidemic, started construction of 464 new big projects each involving over 100 million yuan of investment, according to the Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Commission.
They brought the number of new big projects starting construction since the Spring Festival which falls on January 25, to 979. Of the total, 34 projects are for transportation infrastructure, 9 for water conservancy, 12 for energy sector, 89 for social undertakings, 28 for ecological and environmental protection, 91 for municipal infrastructure, 581 for major industry development, and 135 for others.
Major projects across Hubei Province are accelerating their pace to resume construction. A large batch of projects involving 10 billion yuan of investment each, such as the Hubei International Logistics Hub project and Hubei Section on Zhengzhou-Wanzhou High-speed Railway project, have resumed work in succession.
