BEIJING, April 30 (Xinhua) -- A China-backed stainless steel integrated smelting project was put into production in Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park on April 29.
Indonesia Morowali Industrial park is the first nickel-iron and stainless steel industrial park developed by China's Jiangsu Delong Nickel Co., Ltd., with a planned area of 2,200 hectares.
Since January this year, the industrial park has been steadily advancing its construction, and has completed the commissioning of three generator sets and two AOD steel-making furnaces.
With the first core ferronickel production line put into operation, the Morowali Industrial Park has played an important role in promoting economy in Sulawesi, Southeast Indonesia, providing 30,000 jobs for local people.
