BEIJING, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- JD.com, one of China's leading e-commerce platforms, launched the direct online retailing system program last Friday in Ningbo, a coastal city in east China's Zhejiang Province, aiming to upgrade Ningbo's industrial structure and support its high-quality economic development.

JD.com launched such program earlier this year to build a direct online retailing system for manufacturers, which has already helped more than 100,000 manufacturing enterprises in China better connect their production capacity with consumer needs.
To ensure product quality involved in this program, JD.com has teamed up with Xinhua Credit, a national credit information provider established by China Economic Information Service (CEIS) under Xinhua News Agency, which provides JD.com with service of credit evaluation on enterprises to settle in the retailing platform.

The launch event, under the guidance of Xinhua's National Brands Project and co-hosted by CEIS and JD.com, attracted more than 600 attendees including local entrepreneurs. Excellent enterprises will be selected under this program, helping promote Ningbo's characteristic industry and high-quality economic development and strengthen its supply side reform, according to JD.com.

Through the program, Ningbo's manufacturers will deepen their cooperation with JD.com which is expected to facilitate resources integration and support Ningbo's high-quality economic development, said Fang Wei, deputy director of Ningbo Municipal Economic & Information Tech Bureau.
Ningbo is one of China's 14 open coastal cities. In recent years, it has become an important node city participating in the construction of the Belt and Road and an important advanced manufacturing base in China. (Edited by Gao Jingyan, gaojingyan@xinhua.org)
