NANNING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Over 100 AI-related companies across the world have been enrolled to participate in the First China-ASEAN AI Summit to be held in Nanning during September 7-9, according to a source with Guangxi Big Data Development Bureau, the summit's major organizer.
It is learnt that Huawei, Aliyun, Tencent, JD.com, Inspur Group, iFLYTEK, Haier, Suning, GREE, are among these participating companies.
Besides the exhibition of the newest AI gadgets and technologies, and several AI forums, the Summit will also witness a signing ceremony for the China-ASEAN Information Harbor and its partners.
In recent years, Guangxi resolutely improves the business environment for the development of digital industry, and fine tunes governmental support for the industry, which attracts many digital industrial enterprises to gather in Guangxi for better opportunities.
"Digital economy has become an important part of Guangxi's strive for a higher quality of economic development, as it meets Guangxi's pursuit of traditional industries' upgrading and digital industrial eco-chain's constantly improving environment," said Jin Hairuo, general manager of Cloud Computing Department of Digital Guangxi Group.
According to her, through practicing digital manufacturing and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, the quality of traditional industries such as sugar-making, aluminum mining and processing, and car-making has been improved, while application of governance cloud and industrial cloud on the basis of cloud computing technology increasingly optimizes efficiency of social management in Guangxi.
Industrial insiders say many digital economy's big names are accelerating their layout in Guangxi. For instance, China Mobile recently set up a super-size and high-grade Internet data center in Wuxiang New District of Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi, indicating that infrastructure construction reinforcement of the digital industry has begun to meet the fast-growing demands.
Wan Zuhua, general manger of Netease's Guangxi Branch, echoed Jin's remark, saying that more hardware manufacturing, platform service and software companies will gear up their clustering in Guangxi following Guangxi's full-swing efforts on building up digital economic industrial chain.
Besides business opportunities inside Guangxi, the region's superb geographic advantage and its closer economic and trade ties with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries provide a favorable platform for those interested in the ASEAN digital industry.
Wei Jiang, deputy director with Guangxi Big Data Development Bureau, said that the summit, serving as platform for domestic AI companies and policymakers and their ASEAN counterparts, had delivered invitation to officials of ASEAN countries who are in charge of digital-related industries, while Guangxi, as home of the summit, would present more than 200 prominent projects to attract investment from domestic and overseas investors.
