InfoQuest (September 04, 2019) - A Turkish business and media delegation visited Thailand the other day mainly to organize Turkish businessmen, investors and media to visit the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and have a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, according to Ms. Narumon Pinyo Sinwat, spokesperson for the Prime Minister.
Mr. Somkid expressed his warm welcome to the delegation. He believed that this visit is a good opportunity for Turkish business and media to learn about Thailand's economic and investment policies, EEC project and other large investment projects in Thailand, and hoped for more investment from Turkey in the future.
The deputy prime minister stressed that the Thai government values much the role of innovation and technology in driving economic development. In particular, the EEC project will be committed to facilitating Thailand's entry into high value-added industries and giving full play to the role of innovation in spurring overall economic development.
Although the global economy is facing many headwinds now, it is a good timing to chart the course for the future. Thailand's geographical advantage of being located in the center of ASEAN region makes it a production, trade and investment base with great development potential and also a bridge able to promote economic ties between the Greater Mekong Sub-region (CLMVT) and ASEAN.
During the visit, the Turkish business delegation said that Turkey always sizes up Asia as a potential area for business growth and a key area for investment. Along with the delegation came many Turkish companies and all of them are in Thailand's target industries and ready to strengthen cooperation with and expand investment in Thailand in their professional fields. They hope that this visit can promote concrete cooperation between the two sides in all aspects.
