BEIJING, May 14 (Xinhua) -- China’s postal industry recorded a business volume of 1.23 trillion yuan in 2018, up 26.4 percent year on year, according to data from the State Post Bureau.
It is the first time that the industry saw its annual business volume exceed 1 trillion yuan.
In 2018, the country’s postal industry reaped 790.47 billion yuan of business revenue, an increase of 19.4 percent from the same period of last year.
China’s express delivery witnessed faster expansion last year, as express delivery companies made 50.71 billion deliveries in 2018, up 26.6 percent year on year.
Business revenue of these firms surged 21.8 percent year on year to 603.84 billion yuan, according to the Bureau.
