ROME, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Rome's first official Zontes store has recently opened in the Italian capital, marking a further step in the expansion of the Chinese motorcycle brand in the Italian market.
As one of the brands under China's Guangdong Tayo Motorcycle Technology Co., Ltd., Zontes has been expanding its presence in the Italian market in recent years.
Data from Italy's National Association of Bicycle, Motorcycle and Accessory Manufacturers showed that during the first nine months of 2026, the Zontes ZT368T-G ranked fourth among the country's best-selling motorcycles in the over-50cc category.
Daniele Marrocchi, who runs the Zontes store as well as a multi-brand motorcycle dealership in Rome, told Xinhua that customer interest in Chinese motorcycles had increased significantly in recent years and also praised Zontes for the quality and technological features of its products.
"More and more customers who once focused exclusively on established brands such as Honda and Piaggio are now actively asking about Chinese motorcycles," he said.
In Marrocchi's view, competitive pricing remains an important advantage, but it is no longer the only factor attracting buyers.
"Beyond value for money, Chinese motorcycles offer strong quality and reliability," he said, highlighting their engines, ABS systems and technological features. (Contributed by Gao Jingyan)
