ROME, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- FAW Group, a Chinese automotive manufacturer, has recently entered the Italian market with five SUVs across its Bestune and Joyee brands, sold under its FAWCAR passenger-car brand.
The historic Chinese carmaker, founded in the 1950s, brings two sub-brands to Italian consumers: Bestune for internal combustion engine models and Joyee for electrified offerings.
The portfolio covers three internal combustion engine SUVs, one plug-in hybrid and one fully electric SUV scheduled for release in 2027.
According to Italian media, the local distribution will be managed by importer China Car Company (CCC), a member of Italian auto industry association UNRAE.
"Being selected by FAW to represent the brand in Italy is an important recognition of our experience in the automotive sector and our ability to develop long-term industrial projects," said Fulvio Marchetto, general manager of China Car Company, adding that FAW is the manufacturer that pioneered China's automotive history and is now investing decisively in technologies that are reshaping the future of mobility.
The first models are expected to go on sale in Italy in the fourth quarter of 2026, marking FAW's latest move to expand its presence in the European automotive market. (Contributed by Gao Jingyan)
