InfoQuest, (April 25) -- Regarding the new round of economic stimulus measures, the Ministry of Finance is currently reviewing the details and the budget to be allocated, ensuring the total budget below the cap of about 20 billion baht coordinated by the Ministry of Finance and the Bureau of the Budget, according to Mr. Prasong Poontaneat, permanent secretary of the Ministry of Finance.
In an effort to increase domestic tourism, the government will provide money to Thai citizens aging at least 18 years old, encouraging them to travel in second-tier tourism cities in Thailand, so as to stimulate consumption in those cities. The deputy finance minister noted that the policy need be submitted to Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak for consideration.
Mr. Prasong said he was still not sure whether the proposal could be sent to the Cabinet for consideration before April 30.
