MILAN, Apr 23 (Class Editori) -- Tickets for Expo Dubai 2020 will be managed by an Italian company. Vivaticket, a company based in Bologna led by Luca Montebugnoli, won the tender for the ticketing and access control of the event, a contract that the chairman quantified of "a few million dollars". The tickets available, including the service entrances, will be 25 million, even if someone will come more than once - especially during the winter, peak period for visitors - therefore entrances will probably exceed 30 million. The contract was awarded to the Bolognese company that eight months ago shown what it could do by winning the 2 million dollars tender issued by the UAE Ministry of Transport to manage the Dubai Card, a travel card with which it is possible to manage various transactions as well, like with the London Oyster Card.
Expo 2020 is the fourth event of this kind for Vivaticket, which managed Lisbon '98, Expo 2000 Hannover and, in 2015, the Milan Expo ticket office. "We always want to grow," said Montebugnoli. "Through the Expo di Dubai we count of having at least 20 customers in more within next the two years. We are able to secure customer loyalty around one or two customers every 15-20 days. This year we are counting on increasing turnover by 20% to over 90 million, to then exceed 100 million in 2020".
Already signed two contracts for two tenders in the United States: one with Herschend Entertainment, the world's largest private entertainment group (owner of the Harlem Globetrotters), which owns the seven most visited parks in the US (16 million visitors a year), the most famous of which is Dollywood, in Tennessee, dedicated to the country icon Dolly Parton. "We will manage their tickets for the next ten years, with a 10 million dollars contract," specifies Montebugnoli, 51 yo, a resident in Orlando, Florida. Still in the USA, Vivaticket is preparing for the American Dream, the largest American indoor entertainment facility that will open in New Jersey at the end of 2019, next to the Mets stadium. "Inside it will have a ski slope, a water park and a theme park plus a shopping center with 5,000 shops," explained the chairman. "We estimate around 60 million visitors a year and our tickets are part of the contract for one million a year for 5 years".
From the United States, Vivaticket gets 10 million of turnover in a year, while Italy accounts for 55% of revenues. "In Italy we have recently won three tenders: for the Roman civic museums, for the Biennale Arte e Cinema of Venice and for the management of the Marmore Falls", concluded Montebugnoli.
