Xinhua · Baltic International Shipping Centers Development Index is a comprehensive evaluation index jointly compiled by Xinhua Index Department of CEIS and Baltic Exchange to study the development of global key shipping centers. It comprehensively evaluates the international shipping centers that meet certain conditions. Through the comprehensive analysis of the closely related factors of shipping, a systematic and comprehensive evaluation system is established, and the corresponding index evaluation method is used for quantitative evaluation, aiming to comprehensively measure and truly reflect the comprehensive strength of the international shipping center port cities in a certain period, reflect the development level and status of the international shipping centers concisely, intuitively and objectively, provide guidance and reference for the centers' development, and accelerate the sustainable development of world's seaborne trade and the optimal allocation of resources. Published for six successive years since its launch in 2014, the influence of the International Shipping Centers Development Index at home and abroad has been increasing. On July 11, 2019, the 2019 Xinhua · Baltic International Shipping Centers Development Index Report was released in Shanghai, Singapore and London simultaneously. Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Shanghai, Dubai, Rotterdam, Hamburg, New York-New Jersey, Houston and Athens ranked among the top 10 in the comprehensive ranking.
