BEIJING, June 7 (Xinhua) - More than 50 representatives from 15 Belt and Road countries and regions arrived in Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei Province, to seek cooperation with local businesses Tuesday, reported Hubei Daily on Wednesday.
They came to attend the three-day International Meeting on Economic and Trade Cooperation of Belt and Road Cities held by China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) and held talks with 40 enterprises in Hubei Province. In the first day of the meeting, which opened on June 5, participants have reached initial intent of cooperation in more than 10 projects involving communication, transport and farm produce and inked three cooperation agreements.
According to the report, Hubei Dingliguanhua cultural communication Co., Ltd. has inked an export cooperation pact for 500,000 garments with its Uganda partner and a technology service agreement for agricultural product plantation and development with its Laos partner.
A medicine cooperation agreement valuing four million U.S. dollars was inked by Wuhan Shuangfeitong bioscience Co., Ltd. and the Grenada government.
According to the meeting organizer, goods trade between China and the 15 Belt and Road countries and regions participating the meeting surged 19.2 percent year on year to 389.1 billion U.S. dollars. (Contributed by Duan Jing, duanjing@xinhua.org)
