The Asia-Pacific headquarters project of Danobatgroup in Shanghai Xinzhuang Industry Park, Minhang District of east China's Shanghai, obtained its construction permit on September 24, one day after the company secured the land plot.
The Spanish machine tool producer chose Minhang as the location of its Asia-Pacific headquarters integrating high-end CNC machine tool R&D, manufacturing and exhibition after more than two years of site selection.
When a Danobatgroup team first came to the park in early 2024, it did not make a decision immediately. But after the park's investment promotion team introduced the industrial map, Danobatgroup's China head spotted many global supply-chain partners, some of whom were old friends from Europe.
Later, executives from Danobatgroup's Spanish headquarters visited Shanghai for field studies, meetings with supply-chain partners and in-depth discussions with municipal and district leaders. After learning about Shanghai's high-end equipment industry planning and Minhang's machine tool development plans, Danobatgroup and eight other entities, including TOPNC, jointly initiated an alliance in January 2025 to foster coordination and innovation in Shanghai's machine tool industry.
In Shanghai, Minhang offers far more than an industrial plot, said Zhong Heming, CEO of Danobatgroup China, adding that Minhang also provides an industrial ecosystem for collaborative innovation.
After evaluating alternatives in other localities, Danobatgroup decided to place its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Shanghai Xinzhuang Industry Park, and the investment agreement was signed in February 2026.
Locating the Asia-Pacific headquarters in Shanghai marks a pivotal step for Danobatgroup's shift from a sales-focused presence to deeper, long-term development in China, Zhong said. Minhang, he added, provides not only an innovative ecosystem full of supply-chain partners but also government teams ready to work with the company to navigate approval processes.
