BEIJING, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese e-commerce titan Alibaba Group's Tmall announced Tuesday the establishment of its IoT Unit and the co-launch of new IoT electric appliances with ECOVACS, AUX, DOOYA and Haier.
The move is taken when IoT (internet of things) is recognized as the fifth key strategic pillar of Alibaba Group after e-commerce, cloud computing, Finance and Logistics, according to Shanghai Securities News.
Tmall IoT Unit also plans on-line Tmall shops and offline stores for the IoT products and is in talks with some potential business partners, which are among the Top20 players of China's home appliances and 3C industries, on possible technology and capital cooperation, according to the report.
