China imported 321.1 tons of gin from January to March 2018, a decrease of 2.8 percent year on year. The imports amounted to 1.3 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 10.7 percent year on year. The average price was 3947.5 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 13.9 percent year on year.
In March alone, China imported 86.5 tons of gin, an increase of 24.1 percent month on month. The imports amounted to 372,995 U.S. dollars, an increase of 41.7 percent month on month. The average price was 4,310.1 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 14.2 percent month on month. Compared with March 2017, there was a decrease of 50.7 percent in quantity, a decrease of 38.5 percent in value, and an increase of 24.8 percent in average price.
In terms of import origin by continents,, Asia exported 7.0 tons of gin from January to March 2018, or 111,912 U.S. dollars, at an average price of 16,070.1 U.S. dollars per ton; Africa exported 44.6 tons, an increase of 401.0 percent year on year, or 94,394 U.S. dollars, an increase of 494.1 percent year on year, at an average price of 2,114.6 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 18.6 percent year on year; Europe exported 266.9 tons, a decrease of 15.6 percent year on year, or 1.0 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 6.4 percent year on year, at an average price of 3,881.1 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 10.9 percent year on year; North America exported 2.5 tons, a decrease of 47.0 percent year on year, or 22,732 U.S. dollars, an increase of 17.5 percent year on year, at an average price of 9,255.7 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 121.8 percent year on year; Oceania exported 172 kilograms, or 2,998 U.S. dollars, at an average price of 17,430.2 U.S. dollars per ton.
In March alone, Asia exported 1.9 tons of gin, or 29,022 U.S. dollars, at an average price of 15,420.8 U.S. dollars per ton; Africa exported 22.3 tons, an increase of 150.5 percent year on year, or 53,751 U.S. dollars, an increase of 238.3 percent year on year, at an average price of 2,408.2 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 35.1 percent year on year; Europe exported 62.3 tons, a decrease of 61.8 percent year on year, or 289,433 U.S. dollars, a decrease of 49.3 percent year on year, at an average price of 4,646.3 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 32.8 percent year on year; North America exported 44 kilograms, a decrease of 98.4 percent year on year, or 789 U.S. dollars, a decrease of 95.2 percent year on year, at an average price of 17,931.8 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 209.4 percent year on year.
Among all the countries and regions that exported gin to China from January to March 2018, in terms of value, the United Kingdom ranked first with 835,062 U.S. dollars, an increase of 0.7 percent year on year; Japan ranked second with 111,912 U.S. dollars, at the same time of last year was zero; South Africa ranked third with 94,394 U.S. dollars, an increase of 494.1 percent year on year.
In March alone, the United Kingdom ranked first with 255,288 U.S. dollars, a decrease of 46.2 percent year on year; South Africa ranked second with 53,751 U.S. dollars, an increase of 238.3 percent year on year; Japan ranked third with 29,022 U.S. dollars.
