China imported 345.7 tons of rum from January to March 2018, a decrease of 28.9 percent year on year. The imports amounted to 1.4 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 11.8 percent year on year. The average price was 3,930.5 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 24.1 percent year on year.
In March alone, China imported 83.8 tons of rum, an increase of 125.1 percent month on month. The imports amounted to 442,645 U.S. dollars, an increase of 188.7 percent month on month. The average price was 5,280.0 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 28.3 percent month on month. Compared with March 2017, there was a decrease of 35.1 percent in quantity, a decrease of 4.5 percent in value, and an increase of 47.2 percent in average price.
In terms of import origin by continents, Asia exported 180 kilograms of rum from January to March 2018, a decrease of 98.0 percent year on year, or 480 U.S. dollars, a decrease of 97.6 percent year on year, at an average price of 2,666.7 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 19.3 percent year on year; Africa exported 18.0 tons, or 53,667 U.S. dollars, at an average price of 2,985.8 U.S. dollars per ton; Europe exported 101.5 tons, a decrease of 8.2 percent year on year, or 316,776 U.S. dollars, a decrease of 18.1 percent year on year, at an average price of 3,121.8 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 10.9 percent year on year; South America exported 136.2 tons, a decrease of 55.6 percent year on year, or 771,905 U.S. dollars, a decrease of 19.7 percent year on year, at an average price of 5,668.9 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 80.8 percent year on year; North America exported 89.8 tons, an increase of 49.4 percent year on year, or 213,132 U.S. dollars, an increase of 30.5 percent year on year, at an average price of 2,373.9 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 12.7 percent year on year; Oceania exported 123 kilograms, a decrease of 21.2 percent year on year, or 2,853 U.S. dollars, a decrease of 66.8 percent year on year, at an average price of 23,195.1 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 57.9 percent year on year. Africa exported 2.0 tons, or 35,583 U.S. dollars, at an average price of 18,025.8 U.S. dollars per ton; Europe exported 12.9 tons, a decrease of 75.6 percent year on year, or 65,899 U.S. dollars, a decrease of 59.8 percent year on year, at an average price of 5,089.9 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 64.9 percent year on year; South America exported 28.7 tons, a decrease of 39.7 percent year on year, or 251,546 U.S. dollars, an increase of 13.6 percent year on year, at an average price of 8,762.5 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 88.4 percent year on year; North America exported 40.2 tons, an increase of 42.2 percent year on year, or 89,617 U.S. dollars, an increase of 29.1 percent year on year, at an average price of 2,228.9 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 9.2 percent year on year.
Among all the countries and regions that exported rum to China from January to March 2018, in terms of value, Puerto Rico ranked first with 271,180 U.S. dollars, a decrease of 48.4 percent year on year; Cuba ranked second with 239,650 U.S. dollars, an increase of 108.1 percent year on year; the United States ranked third with 213,132 U.S. dollars, an increase of 30.5 percent year on year.
In March alone, Cuba ranked first with 211,631 U.S. dollars in March 2018, an increase of 293.1 percent year on year; the United States ranked second 89,617 U.S. dollars, an increase of 29.1 percent year on year; France ranked third with 43,726 U.S. dollars, an increase of 966.0 percent year on year.
